Many of my cases in Silk, whether acting for the defence or prosecution, have received national press attention. Notable cases include:

2024 (retrial 2025) R v H and others: Prosecuted 10 asylum seekers in a long running Attempted Murder following a dispute within the Kurdish community (pending);

2024 R v B: acted for defendant who murdered his partner by stabbing her to death in front of their 3 children, each of whom gave evidence in s28 proceedings;

2023-24 R v A and others: acted for defendant in multi-handed conspiracy to import contraband into prisons by drone;

2023 R v B: successfully prosecuted the serial killer LB who received a whole life order on conviction for his murder of a third elderly female: the case has led to widespread calls for an inquiry into Probation Service conduct and oversight.

2023 R v R and others: successfully prosecuted long running murder trial in which brothers colluded to lure an 85 year old man to his death who they suspected had sexually abused a young family member.

2022 R v W and W: privately funded defence of W, aged 90 at trial, who along with his wife faced a lengthy indictment charging multiple rapes against his step daughter and another child in the early 1970s. Arguments re fitness to stand trial and mitigation based on W’s advanced terminal illness on conviction.

2022 R v Mc: I successfully prosecuted Mc for the brutal murder of a young female work colleague; the evidence bore sinister sexual overtones and was widely reported on national news and media. I appeared in a tv documentary about the case.

2022 R v F: prosecuted murder of young mother by former partner following weeks of stalking where killing was captured on cctv at the victim’s home. Diminished responsibility defence was rejected by jury.

2021 R v B: acted for defence in case of Manslaughter based on causation of death involving medical experts in neuro, thoracic, and cardio-vascular pathology and toxicology.

2021 R v P: acted for defendant in a multiple victim, generational historic case of sexual abuse of several girls where offences were committed in the mid 1980s

2021 R v M: I achieved M’s acquittal in a multiple defendant drug gang-related murder linked to organised crime.

2020 R v R and W: I acted in the notorious case of R and W, involving the shooting of the co-defendant’s ex-wife, subsequently subject of a tv documentary.
